Tour Moët & Chandon's Champagne house in France

Moët & Chandon is the top-selling Champagne brand in the world. Established in 1743, Moët is only quietly honoring its anniversary, planning to focus more on the 150th anniversary of flagship offering Moët Imperial in 2019. So it's business as usual at the massive maison, which touts some 100 kilometers of underground cellars brimming with an estimated 100 million bottles.

“Here, we say bigger is better,” says Ivan Falletta, Moët's maison ambassador. Beyond the sheer awe-inspiring sight of those cellars and the shock of hearing the numbers, quality results from them. Having such a massive allotment of stocks ensures there's always a path to achieving year in and year out consistency of what the brand calls its unique savoir-faire, a house style represented by bright fruitiness and mature, well-rounded flavors. “Consistency is the biggest difference between a big house and a smaller one.”
