How to Vacation in the Caribbean Like the British Royal Family

From Princess Margaret to Princess Diana to Prince Harry, the last few generations of British royals have made no secret of their love of the Caribbean sun. But not just any island or hotel is fit for royalty, of course. They favor destinations a bit off the beaten path—no Atlantis for this crowd—but with all the luxury amenities they’ve come to expect. Check out six of their favorite haunts below.

Known for its powder-soft sand and cerulean waters, this island in the West Indies also has a distinctly English streak: until the 1980s it was an associated state of the Commonwealth. It’s no surprise, then, that Prince Harry is a fan, having visited in November 2016. The royal bedded down at Blue Waters Resort & Spa, a luxury hotel nestled in the northwest corner of the island. It recently renovated its 69 rooms and suites, making now an especially auspicious time to visit. Hotel amenities include three beaches, nine pools, and every water sport under the sun, from kayaking to windsurfing.
